If you are going to have a big event like a wedding it is very hard on the people concerned on who to hire as a photographer.  In my San Diego wedding photographer service what I always try to do is show them my portfolio.But photographers can get around this trick by showing only all their best selected shots.What I do instead is to let them see the last 4 wedding I’ve done.That way they would not think that only the best weddings were chosen.This is a great tip for anyone looking for a great photographer.

But what if the event that you are having is something like a concert or a big and popular sporting event.  If this is something that doesn’t happen often you do want to make sure you find a good photographer. As a San Diego event photography service I have learned that you will need a creative and an active photographer.  Many things are happening in a big event and you don’t need to choose someone who can’t keep up.

If you are in the corporate world and you are doing a promotional photo-op then you might want to find someone with a lot of experience in professional photography.They should be able to interpret what the client wants.  That is why in my San Diego commercial photographer service I like to show my portfolio to them.So that they would know that I realize the difference between a regular photo from a commercial one.

So there are some tips to help you find a photographer for any occassion.You may have seen that every event requires a different skill or experience.

As a San Diego wedding photographer taking great photos is my job.If I didn’t have that ability I wouldn’t have much work to do.  So knowing what makes a good photo is essential.  In weddings just like anything else being aware of what is happening around you is key.  There is a lot of activity going on but if you know what is going on you can get prepared.  You know what signature moments are in weddings.Just make yourself ready to catch them on film.

Another tip I learned from being  a San Diego photographer is understanding human emotion.  You could be taking candid photos of people.Or you might find yourself in the position to take photographs at weddings. It makes no difference.  All that matters is you understand your subjects and the emotions they are going through.If you do you will be prepared to capture some great emotions on film.

Finally as a good photographer you have to have good anticipation.  This is especially helpful for doing work like in my San Diego event photography business.Because all the big events will have a lot of things going on.By being ready to get those action shots that you might normally miss, you will be able to catch.

So there you go on some great ways that you can know will be fantastic shots.it is really a very mental process instead of technical and with it will come great photos.  And more captivating then just technical shots.

There are times when artificial lighting equipments may not be used.  Take weddings for example.In this case natural lighting is what you should utilize. As a San Diego wedding photographer I have to deal with this all the time. But it isn’t a bad thing.  What separates a good photographer from a great photographer is how you use the lighting.  For example overcast days are perfect for great shots.But if the day is sunny then make sure that the light is not against the shot.That way you would utilize the natural lighting and it would not ruin your shot.

Another thing that would need lighting are events.  Doing a lot of San Diego event photography has allowed me to see the importance of this.Especially if you would have to take pictures during the night.Utilizing one’s camera’s features is a must if you have to take pictures at night.All cameras nowadays have night modes so be sure to use them.

Taking corporate shots is another event where lighting is needed.What you usually want when taking corporate photos are that the shots shoudl be crisp.Use of lighting would make you achieve this.  I use artificial lighting all the time as a San Diego commercial photographer all the time.This is dissimilar to wedding photos where you would just usually use the natural lighting.What’s good about these corporate shots is that they are prepared so your shots will turn out better.

So there goes some of the events where lighting is important when taking shots. Remember how important lighting is and you will take great shots.

First thing you want to do is change the perspective.What I am referring to is to have the photo taken in a different way not the normal way people would do it.  You can change where the picture is coming from.  This is helpful in my San Diego wedding photographer business.  People are so used to seeing photos taken that look the same that when you change it up a little bit it makes big difference.Take some photos you take from a higher angle.  Or you can take a common photo and get low to the ground and shoot up.it can make such a difference in the way the picture looks.

Another good photography is playing with the eyes.  Most photos are taken with the subject looking into the camera.But where you direct the subject’s eye can really make a dramatic difference in the photo.What you might want to do is getting the subject to look away from the camera.This makes such a difference in the look and feel of it all. Doing a lot of San Diego event photography I have my subjects do this all the time.

Another great tip you can implement is having your subject look at an object within the picture.This is so effective if your goal is to advertise something.  You can have the subject staring at the product you are advertising.  This is a trick that I do a lot as a San Diego corporate photographer.  It really helps focus the attention on the product.

So those were some ways that you can take a photo that people are used to one way and changing it for the better.

One thing you have to be aware of is the exact flash range of the camera.That is one mistake that is made by many amateur photographers.  As a professional San Diego photographer, that is a mistake I can’t afford to make.  Most cameras have a range for their flash to work.The way that works the best in finding out the range of the flash is by checking the manual.  Because if you are out of the flash range your photo will come out too dark or too light.  So learn what the flash range is and watch your photos you take improve dramatically.

Next thing you should know is most digital cameras have scene modes.  This makes it easy for your camera to adapt to the surroundings.  This helps me a lot as a San Diego wedding photographer because the scene mode allows me to adjust it to the time of day.Or the adjustment can help it to know if you are inside or outside.  This allows your camera to take great photos.

Last thing you always have to keep in mind is to always have fun when taking photos.  Of course when I am doing San Diego event photography it is easy to have fun. But when you find yourself taking photographs keep in mind to do it.It gives you the state of mind you would need to be able to take good photos.That frame of mind will give you the ability to take great photographs.

So those are some tips you can apply to taking photos.  Yes digital cameras are great.  But you still have to know how to use it for great photos.

First of all you want to be able to anticipate.In taking candid shots, for example, anticipation is the key. That has been one of the secrets of taking great photographs as a San Diego photographer.  Because by being able to anticipate you can be proactive rather than reactive.  In other words, instead of reacting to what is happening you are actively involved.Because reacting might make you miss taking shots of it.If you know how to anticipate then you can take great shots.

Right posotioning is another thing you must do and learn.What that means is that you have to be in a good position so that you can take great shots.  As a San Diego wedding photographer you have to always be in a good position. Because if you are not you can miss some great shots.  People could get in the way of your photo.  Or you can have objects get in your way.Finding a great position would lead to great shots.

Last tip would be to know the flow of events.  This has been key in my San Diego event photography business.  Because knowing the right schedule of the events would enable you to take good position and you can also anticipate moments.  Because when you don’t know what is going on you can miss great photographs so easily.

So those are a couple of tips to taking better photos.If you just notice these tips are not technical tips involving your camera.They are more helpful in the artistic side of capturing photos.

You may be a professional photographer.  Or you could just be the one getting married.  Either way you can use these ideas to get some great photos of that day.  These are ideas that have developed from my work as a San Diego wedding photographer.These ideas are proven to be true because it is based on experience.

First thing you want to do is make a list.  Make a list of the photos you want taken.  That way you are more organized in this area.Being organized during a very hectic would really help you capture the shots that you want to be taken.  This is from experience of many hectic wedding days as a San Diego photographer. 

Next thing is to give a copy of the wedding schedule to the photographer.Give them enough information on what will happen next.That way they will not miss any eventful happenings during that day.  This is an event as this comes from experience doing San Diego event photography.  Without knowing what’s going to happen makes it harder to capture great shots.You will be more prepared to take shots if you just know the flow of events during that day.

So there goes some of the wedding photograhy tips.You will have no problems in taking photos during a wedding if you just abide by these two tips.The photographer will also be ready for any shots during a wedding.

First thing you want to seek out is a photographer who is an artist as well.  Because if you find someone like that they can really make the photos memorable. How you determine that is by looking at their portfolio.  I let all my clients of my San Diego wedding photographer business look at my portfolio.  That way they can see how I have not only taken shots.  But also how I put it all together.You will be able to tell they have an artisitc side by their work.

Something else you will want to find is a person who has a great personality. Everything isn’t only about the technical aspect of photography.  A photographer with a good personality is needed to interact with the crowd.  As a San Diego photographer who has done a lot of weddings it makes a difference.  Someone who charms the crowd can get great shots out of them.Keep in mind that your guests are going to make up a large portion of those great moments as well.

The last thing you would want is a person who is a great portrait photographer as well.  Plus you want someone who is a good event photographer.  This is important for the wedding party pictures.  As a San Diego portrait photographer that has to be one of the photogapher’s strengths.  Because these are important shots as well.

So those are 3 good qualites that most good photographers have.  If you look for them in a photogapher you will be pleased in how your pictures turn out. Remember these photos are for a lifetime.

Of course this is coming from my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer.  So I have had to deal with couples who had to worry about budget.But I also encountered some who have limitless budget.Obviously, you cannot afford an expensive one if your are on a tight budget.A couple do not have a choice if that is the case.They can’t do much regarding their spending.But if they just go around and interview photographers then they might have achance that they would get a good one.All they have to do is look around for photographers.

Now of course if a couple isn’t limited on budget then they should find the best that money can buy.  Why should they do that?Because a wedding just happens once and it is a very special day for them as a couple.Don’t go for photographers that are not that good because you are entrusting them the duty of capturing the evnets during your vey special day.  I have had many people tell me they regretted not going with my San Diego photographer business because of price.Mainly because they were not satisfied with the quality thattheir photographer gave them.

So if you are planning towed then don’t be cheap.If you could avoid it.  Find the best San Diego portrait photographer you can find and you will be pleased with the outcome.  For something as important as your wedding it is worth it.  You are trusting someone to capture that beautiful moment forever.So you must make sure to hire someone who can deliver.

Now these tips are from the experience I have gained as a San Diego wedding photographer.  So these tips have come from a trial by fire.  Because when you are taking pictures for a wedding you better get it right.

The first you must have experience on is the lighting.You, as a photographer, should know the effects of light on your shots.  This is something I learned as a San Diego photographer.  Things like sunlight during daylight.Or a room light can make a big difference.Thankfully, you can test the lighting first and see its effects on your shots using a digital camera.  So test the lighting is the first tip.

The next tip I will give is one should learn the art of creating depth and dimension on your photos.We look at 3-dimensions in our world.  But our cameras only see in 2-D. But by learning how to create depth in our photos we can make them seem 3-D.  It is a trick I had to learn doing San Diego event photography.Nobody want to just look at photos of events.They like to feel as if they are in that place when looking at the photo.  By creating depth in your shots you can make people feel like they are there.

Those are just two tips but if you master those two you will have fabulous photos.Your photos will be more livelier and you will be more appreciative of your work.  So understand taking pictures is not just pointing and clicking.  No, taking pictures is an art form.
