Beware; we have modern-day “Dick Turpins’” at work on our roads, not quite “Stand and deliver” at gun point, but there’s a striking similarity.
There is a crime that is sweeping the country and innocent drivers are the victims. These drivers are being ambushed.
This is how it goes:
You may be following a vehicle, generally an ageing car or van, onto a roundabout or slip road. Then you slam into the back of it because the old vehicle has suddenly stopped but a lack of brake lights means that you did not know.
There may be two cars involved. The second car might act as a forcing the car in front to sharply brake.
If you have been a victim of these criminals and they are brought to justice, you can use a compensation lawyer to claim back your losses and incurred expenses.
These intentional collisions occur at busy road areas most of the time. The people behind the crash know just what to say to make it sound like the innocent driver was in the wrong. These highwaymen of the present say are part of a larger group of people who run repair garages and have a number of cars in use. They charge over the odds prices for repair work and hire car costs. Then they will claim for compensation on the innocent motorist’s insurance which costs the innocent even more money. Often these criminals will make the claim bigger by having passengers in their car who all claim to be injured too. In this way a minor accident claim can escalate into a claim of £20,000 or more.
Insurers are quite rightly extremely concerned about the scale of these so called “accidents” and believe there could be as many as 10,000 of them occurring per year. So, the Association of British Insurers has created the Insurance Fraud Bureau to deal with this. They work with the police to find these gangs and bring them to justice.
Each day motorists and passengers are at risk from the work of these gangs. This crime needs to be stopped by everyone working together to uncover the criminals.
